Thomson Family Photos – Jensen Nature Park

I had such a fun time meeting the Thomson family and taking their family photos at Jensen Nature Park in Syracuse! I actually met Emily once before everything shut down due to COVID. She goes to the new church congregation that I’m going to now that we moved to West Haven. I was sitting in Sunday school, and Emily recognized that I was new and introduced herself to me. She made me feel so welcome! I had been really nervous about meeting new people, and she put me right at ease that first Sunday. Aaaand then everything got cancelled and I haven’t been back to church yet! So, being able to see her again and also meet her husband, Jason, and their kids was pretty cool!

The kids, Ian and Jane, LOVED the beautiful nature park. Ian found so many cool sticks to play with, and loved running up and down the sidewalk. It was a fun challenge to track him down long enough to snap a few pictures of him, and we got a lot of cute photos of him and Jane playing.

These kids have great taste in music! Emily suggested playing some music and having the kids dance a little bit, so I asked her what their favorite song was. She said they loved “Hooked on a Feeling” by Blue Swede. How awesome is that?! So I played that song on my phone, and sure enough the kids loved it! New goal: teach my kids to also like cool songs haha

Emily told me that they had never had family photos officially done before, so I am so grateful that I am the one that had the opportunity to capture these sweet images that will remind them of this time when Ian and Jane were such good friends, and so playful!
